What is Khilafat

Khalifah is an Arabic word which is user for a person who is the leader of Islamic state or the Muslims. In other words as per Islamic point of view Khalifah refers to the successor of Prophet Mohammed PBUH. The English word for Khalifah is CALIPH. In simple terms it is the head of the Islamic government of any Islamic nation. The Plural for Khalifah is Khulafa which is also an Arabic word. The Khalifa must be Muslim, A Man nor Woman and must be knowledgeable in Islam, should be talented enough to take decisions if necessary.
Khalifah must be from The Tribe of Quraish and should have a lot of experience in different fields of politics, military and other administration fields.
The way of this kind of rule in any area is termed as Khilafat.
