The Beard - Sunnah Or Wajib?

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

Growing beard (facial hair) is a to a great degree accentuated and supported path (Sunnah) of the Messenger of (PBUH), and held by the Muslim researchers to be essential (wajib) for a man.

The Messenger of (PBUH) more than once educated the developing of a facial hair in numerous portrayals, and his own chronic and persistent practice was that of growing a full whiskers. In this manner, the commitment of keeping a facial hair is clear from the announcements of the Messenger of (PBUH, the announcements of the considerable Imams and the steady routine of the early Muslims (salaf).

1) Sayyiduna Abd Allah ibn Umar (Allah be satisfied with him) portrays that the Messenger of (Allah favor him and give him peace) said: "Trim (your) mustaches and extend/develop (your) facial hair." (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

2) Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (Allah be satisfied with him) portrays that the Messenger of (Allah favor him and give him peace) said: "Cut off mustaches, leave whiskers and do generally than the flame admirers." (Sahih Muslim, no. 260)

3) Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (Allah be satisfied with him) portrays that the Messenger of (Allah favor him and give him peace) said: "Trim mustaches, stretch/leave facial hair and don't impersonate the Jews." (Tahawi, Sharh Ma'ani al-Athar, 4/230)

4) Sayyiduna Abd Allah ibn Umar (Allah be satisfied with him) portrays that the Messenger of (Allah favor him and give him peace) requested the trimming/section of mustaches and the leaving of the facial hair." (Sahih Muslim, no. 1/222)

In the above Hadiths, the Messenger of (Allah favor him and give him peace) completely instructed the keeping of the facial hair in a wide range of routes, and with utilizing diverse words. In the English interpretation of the above portrayals (Hadiths), it is unrealistic to plainly watch the distinctive wordings utilized. On the other hand, the individuals who may take a gander at the first Arabic content of these portrayals will see that the Messenger of (Allah favor him and give him peace) utilized diverse expressions and words to stress the keeping of the facial hair.

The Beard as indicated by the Great Imams of Jurisprudence:

 Hanafi
Imam Muhammed (R.A.) writes in his book "Kitabul Aathaar" where he relates from Imam Abu Hanifa (R.A.) who relates from Hadhrat Haytham (R.A.) who relates from Ibn Umar (R.A.) that he (Ibn Umar) used to grasp his whiskers and cut off which was longer. Imam Muhammed (R.A.) says this is the thing that we take after and this was the choice of Imam Abu Hanifa. Along these lines, as per Hanafies, to abbreviate the facial hair not exactly a FIST LENGTH is HARAAM and on this is IJMA (concensus of feeling).

Shafi'i
Imam Shafi (R.A.) in his Kitabul Umm states, "To shave the facial hair is HARAAM." (Shari Minhaj dar Shara Fasl Aqueeqa).

Maaliki
Shekh Ahmad Nafarawi Maliki in the critique of Imam Abu Zayed's booklet states, "to shave the whiskers is without uncertainty haraam as indicated by all Imams." It is additionally specify in "Tamheed" which is an analysis of "Muatta" (Sunnan Imam Malik (R.A.)) that to shave the facial hair is HARAAM and among guys the main ones to fall back on this practice (of shaving) are the HERMAPHRODITES (persons who have both male and female elements and attributes).

Hanbali
The Hanbalies in the well known Al-Khanie'a Hanbali Fatawa Kitab state that "to develop the facial hair is vital and to shave it is HARAAM." Also in the Hanbali Mathab books "Sharahul Muntahaa" and "Sharr Manzoomatul Aadaab", it is expressed "The most acknowledged perspective is that it is HARAAM (precluded to shave the whiskers)."

Likewise note, as per researchers of Islam: "To shave off the facial hair is unlawful (haraam) and one who shaves his whiskers is legitimately talking a wicked individual (FASIQ); consequently, it is NOT PERMISSIBLE to select such a man as an Imam. To say Taraweeh behind such an Imam is MAKRUH-E-TAHRIMI (close forbiddance)" (Shami Vol.1, p.523)

The Durre-Mukhtar states: "Nobody has called it admissible to trim it (the whiskers) not as much as FIST-LENGTH as is being finished by some westernized Muslims and bisexuals." (Vol. 2, p. 155). Additionally, "It is taboo (haraam) for a man to remove another's facial hair." (Vol. 5, p. 359).

Conclusion
Along these lines, a Muslim who shaves or abbreviates his facial hair is similar to a bisexual, his Imamate close denial, his proof is not substantial, he won't have the privilege to vote or being voted in favor of. Shaving and shortening the facial hair is the activity of non-devotees. Imam Ghazzali (RA) says: "Realize that the way to aggregate happiness (Saadah) lies in taking after the Sunnah and in copying the life of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) in ALL that issues from him, and in ALL his doings regardless of the possibility that it concerns the way of his eating, rising, resting, and talking. I say thisin connection to customs in love ONLY on the grounds that there is no chance disregarding the Sunnah reported of him in such matters - yet what I say

INCLUDES EVERY ASPECT of his day by day life." (Kitab al Arbain Addin, Cairo 1344, p. 89). Moreover, in the Holy Qur'an, Allah told Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) to say:

"Say: "If ye love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and excuse you your wrongdoings: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Quran 3:31)
